ACE 4.3: Developing Strategies for Solving Proportions

LARGE GROUP
We discussed Problem 4.3, Developing Strategies for Solving Proportions. There are 3 main strategies: scale factors, unit rates, and rate tables. We tried each one, and developed an algorithm for solving for an unknown. Multiplication/Division fact families turn out to be a useful way to think about solving for unknowns, using the properties of inverse operations, for example, in problem D.
